Grief and Loss Counseling

Grief and loss are normal experiences that everyone encounters at various times in their life. Sometimes the stages of grief can be passed through with a relative amount of ease. However, at other times one may need guidance to pass from one stage to the next. Grief and loss counseling allows for a safe environment to express emotions and work through these stages.

The five Stages of Grief:
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

Grief and Loss of a Pet

Losing a pet can be one of the most difficult grief transitions. Animals are an important connection that keeps us both physically and emotionally healthy. They provide us with companionship, unconditional love and entertainment. When adults and children experience the loss of a family pet, it creates a feeling of emptiness that can lead to depression and anxiety.  Michele Holstad is a Licensed Professional Counselor with fifteen years experience in the process of grief and loss. Michele utilizes nature therapy techniques and a holistic approach to healing.
